Readers Read and Rate and Review

Hi peoples!

So a little while ago, the lovely Simone van der Steeg did a video review of Kyle Demore and the Timekeeper’s Key. Please watch it since it is bloody excellent. Then when you’re done with that, go subscribe to her channel, go follow her on twitter and all her other social media awesomeness. She’s an author also and she just released the English version of her book, so get it!

Anyways, thanks a lot for reviewing my book, Simone! 😀

Also all and any readers of Kyle Demore and Timekeeper’s Key. Please do rate and review!! I will send dubious amounts of internet high fives your way if you do!

Thanks 😀

Going back to Hogwarts…Again

Fall is coming, probably quicker than most of us would like. I, however, am quite fond of the cooling weather, nature’s painting of the leaves, and the ever present smell of pumpkin-flavored-everything in the air.

Perhaps I think fondly of this time of year most of all because it is when I tend to break out the Harry Potter series for a reread. To be honest, it’s almost like internal clockwork. I’m guessing all those years of looking forward to my letter from Hogwarts might have something to do with it.

No matter. I am planning on reading the series yet again. Though, this year I plan to go a step further with the Harry Potter experience. I’m going to rate the books. With a rating system of best being catching the snitch and winning the House Cup to having to drink Goyle’s Polyjuice Potion being least…best. I’ve read the books many times so I have an idea of which will be rated highest, but I’m actually quite lost on which one I will dislike the most. And please don’t misunderstand. I love this series. It is very much a part of why I became a writer and why I’m even bothering writing at this moment.

That being said, even with the greats there are things that can be criticized! I’m sure many people have done this already, so it’ll hardly be unique in that sense. Still, I think it’ll be a fun way to revisit the series and kind of review the best of it and the worst of it all at the same time.

Recent Reads June/July 2014

Since I’ve gotten behind on posting on my blog, I’ve decided to combine my last two Recent Reads into one glorious post. I’m kidding. I’ve not read very much and putting it all into two different post will be slightly embarrassing. Plus, this is easier.

Hooray for easier!

A Game of Thrones Graphic Novel by George R. R. Martin 5 out of 5 Stars

I read this all the way back in June. Is it really August already? Dear mother of Zeus, it’s really August. Well I read this two months ago. It was brilliant then, so I’m sure it will be brilliant now. I want to get more of the graphic novels that have come out for this awesome series. But money. I needs that money to do it. Of course, you’ll all probably suggest for me to go to the library and simply borrow the book. Silly humans. I need it for my own personal library!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak 4 out of 5 Stars

A departure from my normal fantasy, sword swinging, magic casting, adventure having ways, BUT I am better off for it. This book was uniquely written and had some great characters. I honestly think that if you enjoy those two things, you’ll enjoy this book.  It is a subtle book that is quite long and some parts seem like they’ll never end. It can be boring, but all the same I still liked it. 😀

Dendrobates 1-6 by Youji Ishiwata, Akihiro Yamane (Illustrator) 3 out of 5 Stars

Dendrobates had a sort of interesting premise for a manga, but it was overly mediocre across the board. The story, art style, characters, just everything ended up being a bunch of meh. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t very good either.

And that was all for those two months. Sort of pathetic, I know, but I’ll get around to reading more someday. Yeah, definitely probably maybe.

To Do List

My To Do List:

1. Blog more. Blog lots more. I always tell myself, “Hey, I’ll do another post about this or that!” Then I just lose time. I need more time.

2. Blog some more after that. Seriously. I’ve been a failure and I must not continue to be a failure. Must….blog….more….

3. Read more. My reading has taken a hit. I’ve been busy with a lot of randomness, but still I should be reading every second I can. It’s not too hard, since I love to do it.

4. Read some more after that. Honestly. I don’t know how people read so much, but I envy those people. To be able to read at that level. I must learn their ways.

So yeah. I know it’s not much of a to do list, but ya knowz….whatevz and what not. I’ve been doing a decent amount of writing. Really need to do more, but life has been chaotic. Between my sister’s wedding and other things, just yeah. BOOM life!

I’ll have more of a substantial blog post soon. Promise. Cross me hearts and hopes to bring you a more adequate reading experience. 😀
